Oakley German Shepherd Dog Adult Female in Marietta, Ohio

My story
Oakley is a beautiful 1-1/2 year old female German Shepherd who was brought to the HSOV on January 14, 2023 by a Marietta Ohio City Police Officer who had picked her up at Buckeye Park in Marietta Ohio. Oakley was wearing a collar but, unfortunately, there was neither an id tag nor a dog tag on her collar ... And she was not microchipped.

Oakley has a brown medium-haired coat, white 'frosting' on her legs/paws, a long tail, and a lovely face with dark brown eyes, a slender muzzle, a milk chocolate nose, and large erect ears.

Oakley has a friendly, rather demure, personality. She was eager to please HSOV Kennel Tech Hayley Gorrell who helped her with glamour photos on January 16th and looked to Hayley for guidance since this 'picture taking thing' was totally new to Oakley.

When Hayley asked her if she could 'sit pretty', we had to smile when we saw Oakley's version of that command.

And she kept repeating that pose since she seemed to realize we thought it was sooo cute.

Oakley weighs 67 lbs. She doesn't appear to have had much walking-on-a-leash experience, but she made a noble effort with Hayley by her side.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Oakley will be held for three days so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Oakley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
