My story
Hazelnut was the fifth participant in our "HSOV Seniors Photo Sessions" which began on October 28, 2021.

Hazelnut's dream when she was a tiny Treeing Walker Coonhound puppy was to wear a beautiful pink tulle tutu and dance around like fancy toy breed puppies that she watched on television.

Her dream came true seven years later quite unexpectedly when she was enjoying an after-hours dog walk with HSOV Volunteers Gina Sampson and Kara Sampson.

A pink-and-white tulle tutu magically appeared from our wardrobe stash and within minutes Hazelnut was living her dream as a 'prima ballerina' during her 15-minutes of fame.

Hazelnut looked 'pretty in pink' and was all smiles ... You're never too old to follow your dreams.

Hazelnut's current dream is a home with a real family who will love and cherish her forever and ever.

Hazelnut's resume' (aka Petfinder description) provides information about this super sweet girl:Hazelnut is a beautiful 7-year old female Treeing Walker Coonhound who arrived at the HSOV during the overnight- or early morning hours on April 22, 2021. Hazelnut was happy to see our shelter staff that morning since the temperatures were pretty chilly and to be taken inside where it was warm. Hazelnut was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.Unfortunately there was no information left to indicate as to whether someone had found her as a stray or whether she was an owner surrender. Whatever the case might have been, we were relieved that she was brought to the safety of our shelter.Hazelnut has a tricolor short smooth coat, long legs, a long tail, and an adorable Coonhound face with big brown eyes, white shading on her face, and magnificent extra-large brown velvet ears which frame her face.True to her Hound heritage, Hazelnut has a sweet, affectionate personality and is a pushover for petting and chin rubs.

Hazelnut is a gentle soul who loves attention. Hazelnut was very quiet during her photo session, so we were a bit disappointed that she didn't serenade us with her melodious voice.Hazelnut weighed 58.6 lbs when she arrived at HSOV on April 22, 2021 taken.Hazelnut was spayed on May 4, 2021 and was also given rabies vaccine.Hazelnut reluctantly stepped onto the scales on August 8th, and we discovered that there is even more of her to love nowadays .. Hazelnut currently weighs 87 lbs.
