Charlotte (Spayed) (FIV+) Domestic Shorthair Adult Female in Marietta, Ohio

My story
Charlotte is a beautiful 1-1/2 year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on June 30, 2022 along with several other cats who had shared her previous home.

Charlotte has a shiny black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a pretty face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.

This little lady has a sweet easygoing personality.

Charlotte was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on June 30, 2022. She weighed 7 lbs that day.

Charlotte was also combo tested on June 30th and is negative for feline leukemia and heartworm but tested positive for FIV [Feline Immunodeficiency Virus].

We are listing Charlotte as a 'Special Needs Kitty' for that reason but we prefer to think of her as merely very special for so many other reasons. A vigilant pet owner who treats secondary infections can assist an FIV-infected cat to live a reasonably long life. The chances that an FIV-infected cat will pass the virus to other cats within a household are slim to none if no serious fighting or biting occurs. Charlotte certainly seems like a LOVER and not a fighter~

After Charlotte had been in our shelter for several weeks, we discovered that Charlotte was most likely pregnant. Sure enough, Charlotte gave birth to two tiny kittens on July 23-24, 2022 One of her kittens passed away shortly after birth, but the second kitten (a gray male who has been named Wilbur) survived and is doing well.

Charlotte was spayed on October 10, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine.

She weighed 6.13 lbs that day.

Kitten Wilbur grew up to be a happy playful little boy.

He was separated from his mother Charlotte after she was spayed.

Wilbur was neutered on November 21, 2022 and was adopted on December 3, 2022.

Charlotte is now an 'empty-nester' and would love to find a home of her very own where she too would be cherished and spoiled to her heart's content.

Charlotte is available for adoption or rescue to find that perfect home.
